Treatment Programs at AXIS Rehab
Healing the whole family through structured therapeutic programs designed for Antelope households navigating addiction together.
Medical Detox
Detox can feel isolating, but at AXIS in Antelope it does not have to be. From admission, we establish a structured communication plan so your family knows what is happening at every stage — not vague reassurances, but real clinical updates on vitals, medication adjustments, and what to expect next. Over three to seven days of continuous nursing care and daily physician review, withdrawal protocols are personalized around your substance history, physical health, and any co-occurring mental health conditions, with your family's involvement woven into each step.
Family members receive scheduled clinical updates from the nursing director — not a generic "they're stable" call, but specifics on vitals, medication response, and what the next 24 hours look like. Partners and parents are invited to a virtual orientation on day two so the transition into residential care is not a black box.
What's included: 24/7 nursing, physician-managed medication, psychiatric consult within 48 hours, nutritional support from our registered dietitian, and a private detox suite when clinically indicated.
Residential Treatment
Residential care at AXIS is a 30 to 90 day stay on our 42-bed Walerga Road campus. Census is intentionally kept small so each clinician knows every patient — and every family — by name within the first week.
Family programming is woven into the schedule from week one: weekly multi-family workshops, biweekly individual family therapy, and parent or partner coaching calls between sessions. The treatment team maps the household's communication patterns alongside the patient's recovery plan.
What's included: private and shared rooms, chef-prepared farm-to-table meals, daily morning meditation and breathwork, individual and group therapy, ceramics workshop, music room access, and case management for the transition home.
Outpatient Program
Three outpatient tracks — partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient — designed for Sacramento-area residents who need to keep working, parenting, or studying while in active treatment.
Evening IOP runs three nights per week so working adults from Antelope, Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Rancho Cordova can attend after standard business hours. Family therapy slots are scheduled on weekends to make participation realistic for partners and parents.
Length: PHP 2–4 weeks, IOP 8–12 weeks, standard outpatient 3–6 months. Step-down between levels is determined by clinical milestones, not a fixed calendar.
Dual Diagnosis
Roughly two thirds of patients arriving at AXIS have a co-occurring psychiatric condition — anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD — that has been driving or amplifying their substance use. Treating one without the other is why so many families have watched a loved one cycle through care.
Our dual diagnosis track keeps psychiatric medication management and substance use therapy under one clinical team. Dr. Park reviews every dual diagnosis treatment plan, and the psychiatrist who prescribes is the same psychiatrist who attends the family meeting.
Approach: integrated assessment in week one, single coordinated treatment plan, family education on the specific co-occurring condition, and a discharge plan that includes ongoing psychiatric follow-up — not a referral list and a goodbye.
